Ability ERG

Invisible disabilities exist all around us, we just don't see them. As someone who has struggled with chronic illness, I wanted to create a space for people like me to meet, advocate for disability awareness, and improve accessibility on the Reddit product. 

Problem

• No space for people with disabilities to advocate for themselves or raise awareness

Solutions

• Pitched and built first ERG (employee resource group) dedicated to people with disabilities 

Results

• Approved by DIB as an official ERG, given $5k budget per year and executive sponsor support
• Hosted session at company wide All- Hands introducing the new group
• ~ 200 Slack members in an active channel discussing disability struggles/ news
