Courses in AI / AI Alignment

Everyone's talking about AI - and you have to constantly learn about how the industry is changing. Over the past ~year, I've taken 3 additional courses to stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and AI safety to see where I can contribute. 

AI Alignment - Blue Dot

2024

Definitely one of the best courses I've taken since graduating - Blue Dot's AI Alignment course spans 12 weeks with a project at the end, and it's free! You have a choice between a Governance or Alignment track; the former is focused on policy approaches to safer and AI, and the latter is focused on technical approaches. Blue Dot is a nonprofit focused on teaching individuals the information they need to lead a high impact career. They also offers courses in Biosecurity.

Aside from the project portion of the course (the best way to learn is sometimes just by doing!), the course allowed me to find what areas of AI safety interested me the most (the intersection of biology and AI.) Check out the curriculum.

Structuring ML Projects

2024

A quick refresher on how you actually build ML products 'in the wild.' The information was helpful, but the final project didn't have much accountability. Great for reviewing foundational concepts!

Human Factors of AI

2023

A great option as a shorter (3 week) course to see if you have an interest in AI safety. The course will teach you the basic considerations and touches lightly upon some technical topics but overall is not a technical course.
