High Impact Action
Some charities are 100x as impactful as others, and we have a huge opportunity to make a bigger impact with the same amount of resources. These are the principles that have guided my work in teaching people about cost effective giving and high impact work.
Cost Effective Donations

Cost Effective Action and Donations
From this, I led the creation of an Impact focused group, with 9 people volunteering to lead the newest Employee Interest Group focused on education, effective donation, and high impact action.
Women in Product

Women in Product
One of the first groups I got involved with outside of my team was Women in Product, an employee resource group (ERG) not only for women who were already in product, but others who were interested in learning more about the field. I joined as a lead and helped bring speakers (like director of Coded Bias Shalini Kantayya), organized screenings, and put together programming for women's history month and monthly lunches.
Impact Investing

The Best Way to Learn is by Teaching...
I've been exploring the concept of B Corporations and Impact Investing after reading Building Social Business by Muhammad Yunus, Noble Peace Prize winner for his work in reimagining how capitalism can work for the better. The businesses he has created generate economic growth by empowering underrepresented groups (most famously, Grameen Bank, a microcredit bank that gave small loans to women to enable them to create their own businesses).
This led me to an organization called Acumen that uses philanthropy to support entrepreneurial ventures that embody the social businesses described in the book. The company is actually advised by Yunus, and they have a program called Acumen Next that teaches cohorts of people more about impact investing, and how they can get involved. We brought their representatives to come speak to the company and recruit for the next chapter.
